ŞANLIURFA-GÖBEKLİTEPE-AFİŞ (2)(1).jpg

DEAR FRIENDS,

Since the year 2019 was announced as the year of Göbeklitepe, the attention of our travelers has focused on this line from Mersin to Diyarbakır.

The corridor, called the Faith Tourism Corridor, covers the regions of Hatay, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa and Mardin, Diyarbakır starting from Tarsus.

As we know, especially the Southeastern Anatolia Region is a geography where the members of the three great Celestial religions have lived together for thousands of years.

Still being discussed and their ancient language being written, the cultural items, kitchen with every season that deserves attention too to make impressive with its unique nature and of course, home to the historic and cultural history of Anatolia Anatolian Civilizations.

Located in Mersin Tarsus city center, Şehitkerim District, St. Paul Memorial Museum was registered in 1994 and taken under protection.

Born in the town of Tarsus, Saint Paul (Saul) was instrumental in the spread of Christianity to the world and became the center of attention of thousands of Christians who come to our country every year to make a pilgrimage.

Located in the city center of Tarsus, in the Kızılmurat District, St. Paul's Well, St. Paul, which has an important place in the spread and institutionalization of Christianity and is called "Heralder" in the Bible. It is accepted as a place where Paul was born and lived.

When we come to Antakya, we can easily say that it is the third ancient city in the world, together with Venice and Jerusalem, whose historical silhouette remains intact.

It is a city of peace where the places of worship of all three heavenly religions are located side by side, where the inhabitants of the city celebrate each other's holidays.

Mosques and churches are in Hatay, which is an important center of faith tourism, and Saint Pierre Church, the world's first Catholic Church, is located. Hatay, which has an important place in the history of Christianity, is also one of the four major patriarchate centers.

St. Simon Stylite Monastery, Yayladağı Barleam Monastery and Keldağı Barleam Monastery are important monasteries.

Hatay is one of the important faith centers of Muslims as well as Christians. Habib Neccar Mosque, Sheikh Ahmet Kuseyri Mosque and Ulu Mosque are worth seeing.

Gaziantep was the cult center of the beliefs of Dülük, Tesup, Zeus and Jupiter Dolikhenos in ancient times, and the largest of the Mithras Temples built underground in the world was found on the southern skirt of Keber Hill in Dülük.

When Christianity first emerged, Johannes, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ, chose Rumkale, one of the important centers of that period, as his base and reproduced the Gospel of John by writing here. . The monastery that Yakubi Saint BarÅŸavma built in his name is also in Rumkale.

Adıyaman, Komagene Kingdom and Nemrut, which was a Hellenistic civilization established after Alexander the Great, have always preserved and gradually increase their religious and historical appeal.

Hz. The Ãœzeyir tomb is still in use, housing the Abuzer Gaffari Tomb of the Companions, the Syriac Mor Petrus Church and the Ancient Assyrian community.

Our Şanlıurfa is home to Göbeklitepe, which is still discussed with new excavations and new discoveries and the door of mystery cannot be opened.

It is defined as a cult center by archaeologists and it is a culture that breaks the routines of the Neolithic period. We can say that it is the backbone of the Göbeklitepe culture and the Southeast Faith Route.

Hz. Ibrahim was born in the cave located in the south of the Mevlid-i Halil Mosque courtyard.

Halil-ur Rahman and Ayn-ı Zeliha Lake, known as Fish Lake, are the most striking belief centers of our Şanlıurfa.

Hz. The cave, where prophet Eyyüp suffered, is visited as the seat of the Prophet Eyyüp.

The golden triangle of Mesopotamia is complemented by Şanlıurfa, Mardin and Diyarbakır.

With Diyarbakır city walls and Hevsel gardens, it has already become the constant route of cultural tours and it has already deserved to enter our route in terms of religious tourism with Zerzevan Castle and Mithra temple.
